Bruce McIntosh's titles now include Professor of Music Emeritus at Willamette University and Founding Director and Salem Chamber Orchestra Founder and Music Director Laureate. He received the Master of Music from the University of Texas in Austin and the Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory-both in Cello Performance. During his 36-year tenure at Willamette he was a member of Trio Northwest, Oregon Trio, and the Willamette Trio. His principal teachers were George Finckel, John Frazer, and George Neikrug. In addition, he did post graduate work with Nathaniel Rosen at the Scotia Festival and John Hsu at Cornell University. He studied with conductor Harold Farberman. Past experiences include many recitals and solo appearances, Artist-in-Residence at Franconia College in New Hampshire, and Principal Cellist of the Portland Opera Orchestra.
