Clarinet Soloist
Sergeant Sherylanne Marie Branning is a native of Syracuse, New York. She earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from Ithaca College in Clarinet Performance and Music Education and a Masters Degree in Performance and Music Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Sergeant Branning's most prominent clarinet teachers include Michael Galvan, Robert Schmidt, Linda Bartley and Gerry Errante. Following her education, Sergeant Branning was selected to perform with the Army Ground Forces Band, Ft. McPherson, Georgia in 1998, where she performed on B-flat and E-flat clarinets in the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band and "Net-Play" clarinet quartet for a tour of four years. While stationed in Georgia she maintained a private clarinet studio of thirty students and was a strong advocate of music education and clinics throughout Georgia Public Schools. In 2002, Sergeant Branning moved to Portland, Oregon with her husband and performs with the ConGrazia Wind Quintet, Oregon Chamber Players and the 234th Army Band and teaches privately throughout the Portland area. Sergeant Branning was a soloist with the 234th Band during 2003 and 2004 Annual Tours.
